Marketing 101 – The Shotgun (revised)

How do you tell total strangers that you have the skills and desire to help their business grow? I don’t know if there is really a right answer to this, well at least I hope that the wrong answer is not postcards, because at the moment I have been sending out little postcards to a few people that I would love to work with. This method has been lovingly referred to as “The Shotgun” by marketing gurus far brighter than I. The term comes from the fact that you are sending out massive amounts of “bullets” with little thought for accuracy, you just pull the trigger and hope that you hit something. That does not sound very pretty or elegant at all and come to think of it this is not really an accurate description of my postcard campaign. The postcards have been mailed to select people in areas of business that I feel best suits the experience and talents of Occupant. Whether you are in the health care field or an ad agency, know that you have been lovingly selected. I hope you like the postcard.

Not to mention that the postcard is just the first small step of introducing yourself to these people. I love the postcard design. If you sent one to me, I would definitely be intrigued.
